Aprašymas

This book problematizes and draws attention to the complexity of the notion and praxis of return migration by drawing from the Zimbabwean Dispensation Permits (DZP), Zimbabwean Special Permits (ZSP) and Zimbabwean Exemption Permits (ZEP) which were granted to Zimbabwean migrants in South Africa by the South African government from 2009 up to now.

Situated within the problematics of the discourse of return migration and drawing on the case studies of return migrants in different parts of Zimbabwe, the book provides a nuanced discussion and understanding of the complexity of return migration in the context of nationalism, nativism, xenophobia and the contradictions of temporary migration policies as an instrument to meet labour market demands while simultaneously avoiding the permanent settlement of migrants, among other logics of inclusion and exclusion.

Contractualisation, Humanitarian Fatigue and the End of Solidarity will be useful for researchers as well as graduate and undergraduate students of African Studies, Human Geography, International Studies, Migration Studies, International Relations and Political Science.
